We carried a 250cc honda helix scooter on the back of our motorhome. It was about 350lbs. Sold it because we wanted something for longer distance trips and got a 450cc Yamaha Majesty scooter. It is about 460lbs and that was (to me) really heavy for the back of the Motorhome. We now have a small trailer and transport our scooter on it.
I really liked the having the scooter on the back of the motorhome. Very convenient and we could take it anywhere. The trailer makes things a little more challenging, but love the scooter.
Our longest scooter trip (two up) was about 90 miles. We did that in Yellowstone Park on our 250cc Honda. Scootn' is the best way to see the park, so easy to pull over to take pictures and view the sites. Just be careful of the buffalo...we got to see one up close and personnel trapped in a buffalo traffic jam. They are awfully big when you are up close and sitting on a scooter ;-). Nice to have a water cooled scooter as we saw some Harleys that had to stop to let the bikes cool down. Some times the buffalo create traffic jams and you might be moving very slow for extended periods.
