I started with a Honda Metropolitan, then sold it to buy an 85 Honda Elite 250, and sold that to buy a Yamaha XT225 with a Russell Day Long seat. I think they add a new dimension to camping. The Elite 250's are lightweight enough to ride on a front carrier, are easy to ride in the campground because you don't have to shift, but have the power to go highway speeds when needed. I kinda wished I had kept mine. If you can find a good one buy it. License is easy to get, and insurance is cheap. Mush more useful than a 50cc scooter. The newer 250cc scooters weigh a lot more and are too heavy to ride on a front carrier. The XT225 is set up for 100 mile runs, and probably isn't what you are looking for.
