When Charlie Crist was Governor of Fl. he double the tags, drivers License and registration fees. When Governor Scott took over he cut the fees back about 1/3 to 1/2 Then Crist ran again last time and was soundly beat just as badly as when Scott ran against him...When the economy takes a dive Govt. wants to take (and does) more from the working persons back pocket instead of cutting back (should start with the politicians salary and benefits but it doesn't)
Alabama has some decent gas prices, with my flying J card I paid 2.08 per gallon today and living this close to the Al line guess where we shop...
