Quite frankly, if you're a clean looking nice camper, I probably won't take pictures. If you look like riff raff I don't give a rat's ass if I make you uncomfortable taking your picture. This has cost us $1000. You uncomfortable...move on. The stress of this has put me in ER...not saying this to get pity...just telling you all that when it comes to my money or my health...too **** bad if I make you uncomfortable.
If that's your attitude then maybe I should pose for your photo with bolt cutters in my hand.
I feel your pain but don't use it as an excuse to be judgemental and disrespectful to others based on your perception of their rigs.
2 wrongs don't make a right.
Unfortunately your genset was not the first or last to be stolen.
Consider it a hard lesson learned, but don't fall into the trap and believe everyone around you is dishonest, especially those with older rigs.
Just because a person has less than stellar rig doesn't make them a thief. Maybe BLM land management should have a no 10 year RV rule to keep those thieves out once and for all.
Right now you're still angry and that is to be expected, but in time you will put it all in perspective and develop a different security plan for your gensets including a secure box..
On my prior RV I carried my portable genset in a box in a similar fashion to keep the genset from growing legs. One of the cons of the small lighter units is they are easy targets for thieves and require more security.
