Yup, my wife has a car on Craigslist, and she’s been seeing that same sort of @#$& too. Sometimes those guys will exchange 5-6 emails with her before they show their hand.
She’s learned to just ignore them at that point, or if she just can’t resist responding she tells them “You can pay for any car history report you want. I already sent you the Carfax report on it and it’s accurate. The VIN is in the ad.”
The website is legit, and I’m sure you’ll get a report out of them, but they probably just get the data from Carfax and repackage it. They are steering business to the site with the emails.
