Senior Moments

Well, I had a senior moment today. I left my RV for several hours and returned to find the entry door wide open and latched. My first thought was, "robbery" but the fact the door was latched open led me to believe I simply drove away without closing and locking it. That was the case (fortunately). Nothing was missing and even though it rained there was no wetness inside due to blowing rain.

I think what happened is I exited my RV carrying several items to my truck and in the back of my mind I was thinking of returning to pick up another item. Anyhow, that was a wake up call, reminding me to double check the security of my RV before leaving. I dodged the bullet this time.

How about you? Would you like to share a memorable senior moment in your RVing life?

  • An hour ago my wife went to take our son to his friends house and backed her 4week old Lincoln into my Odyssey. She said she didn't see the van because it was black, luckily I was parked directly behind her so no damage. Oh, she is 37 so I guess this does not count as senior moment.
  • Senior moments happen. Today I backed my tractor over my DWs favorite apple tree. No excuse, just happened. Fortunately DW understood these senior moments. Apple tree broken off at ground level, DW understands. I feel bad, but this stuff just happens as we get older.
  • Cooked some steaks on the charcoal grill. Next morning tossed Charcoal in the dumpster, they were cold,

six hours later, Fire blazing. I didn't confess
  • I watched a elderly man and woman back their 5ver in at a c/g in Tenn. The slope was considrable. He commenced to unhook the tow truck w/o chocking the wheels apparently brakes were not locked up. Down the hill went his 5ver with his wife trying to hold it back. Fortunately she was in front of it. It stopped in the creek at the bottom of the hill.

I would guess that never happened to him again the rest of his life.
  • Not quite a senior but close at 61. Couple weeks ago the wife and I were out camping and after sitting around till late having a few drinks we called it a night. Next morning when I went outside and there were the keys to the trailer laying on BBQ table and the yellow porch light on. Guess it's a safe neighborhood.
