I asked a ranger in the NP that I volunteer in. He told me that the exact date of change has not been released but it will be prior to the next fiscal year which I believe he said was October.
I would suggest people purchase an extra pass before the increase and put it in a safe place. The pass never expires but if a pass is lost you must purchase another.
