I'm a retired police officer and can carry anywhere in the U.S., but I don't. The first thing you learn as a new cop......if you're off duty with your family, know where the phone is and be a good witness!
With that said, this discussion always gets a little heated about carrying a firearm. I think what gets confusing is that many start talking about "carrying" versus what an OP may be asking about, having a firearm in their coach for protection......big difference.
Before you buy any gun, you need to ask yourself if you could take the life of another in self defense. If you're not sure, you'll just be providing a new gun to a crook. Secondly, you need to be comfortable and confident with how to use it, not just buy it and never practice.
The rules are substantially different if you have a short .22 rifle or a short barreled shotgun secreted in your RV and only used for an intrusion INTO the RV.
Lastly, for those who think the world is a happy and friendly place, I can tell you after working 35 years in Los Angeles County, there are some real animals out there who have NO concern for human life.
