Which part of which policy would cover damage to the RV, say, in case of a tire blowout?
Each person has their own policy, but I would think if you had a blow out, it would be like a blow out on your automobile. If no damage to anything, you simply have to purchase a new tire (it's on you), as it would be considered normal wear and tear.
However, if the tire caused damage to the trailer, I would think the trailer insurance would cover the damage to the trailer. If the tire blow out caused a wreck, and damaged someone else's property, that would fall under the automobile. If everything is insured through the same company, let the company figure it out. However, if different "parts" are insured through different companies, you bet, each company will deny responsibility and attempt to shift responsibility to the other so they won't have to pay. And you may end up getting nothing paid (for this blow-out causing damage to someone else scenario). (Just my 2 cents. But it ALL does depend upon how your insurance is written up.) If juggling different insurance carriers, you've really got to read the fine print to know what's really covered under each company.
