One aspect of PDM (Poop Disposal Method) not addressed so far may not impact many RVers, but for those of us who frequently visit our neighbours to the north (Canada, for the geographically challenged), one must be very careful when returning to the US with even a partial LOP (Load of Poop). Canada uses the Metric system. As long as the LOP is not exposed to oxygen, or if you execute a PDM in Canada, you are OK. But if you return to the US with a LOP accumulated in Canada, as soon as that LOP is exposed to US air, it will increase by a factor of 2.2. Therefore, what was a modest 1/2 to 3/4 LOP now exceeds the capacity of the PDM. The hoses cannot handle such a volume and will more than likely burst. On occasion, even the on-board black tank has swollen to dangerous proportions, and recently on a Montana-licensed pusher visiting Saskatchewan, one actually did explode. But nobody noticed.
