The term "glamping" has been around for a couple of years in Central Oregon , Sisters and Bend in particular .
I don't know where the term originated but two Central Oregon gals bought a dozen old trailers and fixed them up for a rental business .
They painted them " women's colors " on the exteriors and started a rental business . These were 16 foot single axle jobs built in the 1960's , 1970's models .
These gals got a lot of press in the local media .
Part of this is helped because Sisters Oregon is a quilting mecca and the interiors of these trailers had quilter style drapes and bed covers .
As some know , there are women's camping forums, blogs, and clubs.
Nothing wrong with glamping .
These gals are pretty creative and style is higher priority than brute practicality than men enjoy .
