RedRocket I am in Gunnison, CO this week and part of next week. We have been getting rain but most of the time it is just showers. It is gorgeous here.
If you like to fish there is great fishing here. Lots of trails to hike. A lot of passes you can make a day trip out of to go over. If you are a photographer (I am) lots to take pictures of. Next week the colors will be coming on more then they are this week. If you are a bike rider there are people biking all over the place.
Of course, I am prejudiced as I went to college here. lol The town is still very small and everyone is still very friendly. In fact I would bet the enrollment of the college is greater than the population of the town. lol
