If a CG says a sewer donut is required, what do theY mean? Amazon has a "sewer seal" which was what I thought they meant but went to RV Supply store today & they didn't have one. They only had a sewer...

I've seen people just plop a cheap sewer hose down the hole... result is usually quite smelly with a nice backflow, especially if the hose is well jammed in there that the sewage can't flow down the pipe.
I've had quite good luck with the screw-on fittings. I use that, and have no leaks, no mess.
