We use Option 2 because it assures a downward flow of `stuff' to the sewer. We also carry Sewer Solution for those rare rare cases when the sewer is too high.
The Disney sewers are in a little vault with sides at ground level. The sewer opening is a little below ground. This assures that spills are contained within the vault. It's the way all sewers should be installed.
