I made one similar to option 2.. used u shaped vinyl gutter. bought 10 ft length and cut it roughly in half.. screwed a short length of chain to one end to hang on connection at trailer. halves slide inside each other, and length can be adjusted as needed. My hose is stored inside the gutter, so the whole thing slips out of storage as one piece, making it easy to handle.
