I am seeing more and more folks with this problem. It is a significant safety issue. First, most folks that have had it happen were driving at lower speeds, but what happens when it is at a faster speed? We have a 43' MH and it causes it to shake all over so at a higher speed I think it would cause you to lose control.
Just returned form the Jeep dealer and all they could add is for me to read the manual as to how to attach it! I attach it the same way every time, but this only happens when we hit a rough spot in the road. This is not tires and all the other remedies everyone has suggested. If it were that it would happen all the time.
The reason we purchased the Cherokee was that we had great luck with towing our 2009 Liberty. We just want to upgrade. Well we would like to have Liberty back right now.
The reason we purchased the Cherokee was to tow it. If we can not trust it to tow it then would have purchased it in the first place.
Everyone please talk to others that you see towing 2014 or 2015 Cherokee, please discuss this with them and get their contact information. I hate the electronic parking brake. We had to replace the back tires already AFTER my wife and I both looked to make sure it was not on.
I now count about 5 folks with this shaking problem. I am happy for those of you who have not had the problem, but my wife and I cannot trust to tow it anymore. We purchased a 2014 Silverado 4W and will tow it on our next trip.
Please stay in contact and feel free to contact me through this forum so we can get Chrysler to honor what they sale.
Thanks,
Richard
