Clearly some posters are unfamiliar with the current Cherokee, which is a Dodge Dart under the skin. Not much in common with JK or older Cherokees other than the badge.
Just a guess on my part that some of the front components have too much flex for the tires and wheels in this model and so a form of death wobble results.
Personally I would get rid of it because there are enough reports it seems like a design flaw. I don't keep any vehicle that I don't have confidence in.
Good luck.
So the wranglers have a design flaw too? They've been used off road and flat towed for decades. You've read here of people having issues with them too. Not buying the too much flex scenario. They are buildt way tougher than many other flat towable manufactures out there. The jeeps with the active II are trail rated ( proven and documented, not just a badge) and reinforced with beefier suspension and body.
IMHO there are pleanty of other things to point the finger at vs it's a problem with the Cherokee with the active II drivetrain. Alignment to the motorhome, are they using a riser or drop hitch, is there a lot of play in the hitch connection points, are all connection points torqued correctly, is the braking system setup properly, is it working properly, etc etc.
Many drivers have towed them without one problem, including us. If there was a design flaw it would show up in every one of them.
