First thing, get some LT rated tires on your truck! P rated tires are GARBAGE for towing.

Not necessarily true. That used to the case 10, 15 years ago. But todays "P" rated truck/SUV tires are not the same animal that's on your cushy riding 300. Depending on brand/model of tire, they can take PSI's up to 51. Granted the bigger the trailer the more the need for LTs, and that is probably what the OP needs. But LTs are not always the answer these days. And I used to be a BIG advocate for pulling the P tires off of my Suburbans and putting LTs on, even with the 17ft trailer I had it made a world of difference. My Sierra has P tires and tows my 22 ft HTT just fine.
But before you go with LTs, check you tire sidewall. Is 40 psi as high as you can go? Run the backs at the max PSI on the sidewall (44?). Run the front at cold pressure listed in your door. More PSI in front will put less rubber on the ground making it feel "lighter".
And yes, you can get LTs in that size. BF Goodrich has them. Perhaps others. Check Tirerack.com. Personally I'd go back to that shop and politely raise a stink see if they can do some sort of swap.
