I've only towed in a handful of states but what he is talking about sums up my 20 years of experience traveling Texas. It can be nerve racking dealing with the wind gusts and semis when traveling east and west. There are no wind breaks...except for the passing trucks. And I've bucked it for as long a 5 hours at a time. Not fun. When the winds get up, I try to avoid interstate. And the wind is almost always seems to be gusting out of the south. I detour through highways 29 and 190 as much as possible. Much more pleasant drive. My $.02.
