Everybody is different, I understand that, and make no judgement on the way others choose to live life and spend money.
However, If it were me I would ask what is the point of saving half my income at 70? We are not getting any younger. Health issues god forbid can arise at anytime.
We are 60, ten years ago, we cut our hours, took much more time off, have gone on many RV and overseas trips. As a result we have not really saved as much as we could have.
This week we had a bit of a health scare, false positive on the DW. So thinking about these last ten years, the things we have done and how this health issue could have turned out. I have no regrets about our choice. And if fact for us we think it was a darn good choice.
Long winded way of saying yes you should spend the money. What else is it good for? I will take experience over money in the bank everyday. But again we may think different than many folks.
