Just last month as we were out for our morning walk in the camp, we observed water flowing out of the storage bays on a brand new class C. The owners had left for the day and this was about 7:30 a.m. DH went over and turned off the water at the outside spigot. Later when the residents returned, he went over and talked to the owner. They had water at the toilet which had gotten the floor wet. She was thankful he had turned off the water as she would have had a lot more damage. It was a loose fitting/connection. Their maiden voyage.
This is the third time we have done this. One time there was water ankle deep standing in a trailer which was on a little hill. It had run for over a day while the owners were gone. Water was actually cascading out from under the two entrance doors and the entire site was flooded.
We always shut off our water at the spigot if we are leaving.
