Skelshy, RVing isn't cost effective. Buying a generator isn't cost effective. I believed OP (you) wanted to power his residential fridge and solar is one way to do it without any effort on most days. If you want to sit around your campsite 2, 3 or 4 hours a day running your generator, fine. I'll be the RVer at the end of the campground making no noise and not polluting the air when there is another way.
Solar is totally cool I get it. But I don't think it's a good investment where I really only need extra juice on stays longer than a weekend. For us that's 2-3 times a year. On normal weekends we make it on batteries just fine.
