I currently have two costco "rv/marine" batteries which are due to be replaced. Planning to get 2x230 AH 6v Duracells for a total of 230 AH If the batteries are half empty, I have to charge 115 AH ...

My solar system cost $1700 in 2005 and it has not cost me another dime. I've spent four times that on generators (not including running costs)--which are a PITA. (one died, one grew wings). How exactly is solar not cost effective?
