In addition to the discussions above and the various pros and cons, if you have a premium credit card, check the benefits they offer. Air ambulance service is provided by several credit cards, at various levels of service. Since the benefits can vary by card, it's best to check with the issuer to see what will/will not be covered in case of an emergency. This benefit likely should not be your sole source of coverage, but it's good to know that the benefit exists on the premium cards. Consider this as supplemental rather than primary coverage.
