SkyMed Policy?

Anyone out there have any Pros or Con comments about the SkyMed insurance policy??? It's an emergency agreement/policy when on the road to fly you back home/hopital and provide a way to get your RV back home.

We are seriously considering their policy.

Thanks in advance for you thoughts and input.

Of all the options listed SkyMed is the only GOOD ONE.

Gee, I'm happy someone stepped up and ended all doubt!
    (PS...I have MASA) :-)
  • If you have a motorized rv and you join FMCA it is included with your membership. As Canadians we will not go to the USA With out out of province medical insurance and those plans seem to have that coverage. I'm still glad to have the FMCA coverage for when we travel in Canada.

My only issue with a Good Sam product that helps you in a health emergency is Good Sam's not so good customer service issues. A health emergency is not the time to have to post on the web site and wait for their "Rapid Response" team to forward your problem to their executive desk all the while you sending them private messages with your contact information. If you feel the need for this coverage, you should seriously consider Sky Med.

    LOTS of Pros and/or Cons.........

    Discussion and comparison (see post/s #22 & 23)....
Medical Air Service Association ("MASA") -vs- Sky Med on Escapees

    MASA and SkyMed info

Also -from one of the other posts- "apparently" one of them will not accept persons on certain meds - or numerous meds.

Lots of good info there - however the thread was closed after 28 posts - #28 being a negative (on SkyMed) an advertiser on SKPs.

    On edit - Note:
There may have been previous discussions (threads) on this subject on SKPs in the past.
    Well worth a search there!..;)

  • WE have also sat through many a presentation and after careful thought we went with "Masa" also. We like that it has a "lifetime" membership which as I recall, Skymed does not.
  • We have attended their sales presentations. But chose to go with Massa Assit
    Also FMCA offers some assit.
  • There was something on the news recently about some problem with them. Might need to check it a bit closer. Something about folks ending up with a huge bill.
