Slideout general maintenance

Check the slide seals on a regular basis and treat them at least once a year with a product like 303 Protectant to keep them conditioned. The top seal is especially important.

Lesson learned....

Do a dry run on using the manual overide (hand crank) . I found out my port hole did not line up with the crank mechanism.

That was part of my PM when doing the slides....on my kitchen slide, I have a part that folds in, I keep hinges lubed...

There is a folding metal bar that supports all the wiring. It fold in and out with the room. It rusted up and the hinge broke. An easy fix for me, now I'll keep an eye on it and oil it when needed.

All I've ever done is used slide lube on the sliding rails and any other moving mechansim that is visible..The bottom of my 5er is enclosed, so I've not done anything in that aspect of keeping it up..5er is an 06', and the slide lube has worked fine for me. (mine is a "dry lube", which helps keep the outside slide "bar's" clean)....I've owned both hydraulic and electric slides...With hydraulic, I did keep an eye on the hydraulic oil reservoir...

I'm interested in this topic as well. I have a new TT with an electric slide out.

Are they hydraulic or electric?
