I did find the instinct to steer my way out of the sway was no help or made it worse. Holding the steering wheel in a fixed position did help.
I agree slowing down may put a bit more energy toward movement initially. However if it is coming around I would rather be going 5 mph slower vs 5 mph faster. Off the throttle is enough, no brakes. Possibly just trailer brakes but honestly that is a tough reflex as I like both hands on the wheel. Combined with wheel in a fixed position is best strategy IMO.
