slow down, or speed up

I slow down......something is wrong

Bring it back with use of the trailer brakes.

Anyone who tows a trailer that does not know this, shouldn't be towing a trailer.

That is why your brake controller has a function/switch to apply JUST the trailer brakes. If you hit the TV brakes, you've a good chance of losing it altogether. Just a little trailer-only brakes will straighten it right out, then you can slow down gently, stop, and correct the problem before carrying on.

Do's - Good Towing Practice

Gradually reduce speed
Steady the steering wheel - sudden turns can cause more sway
Apply only the trailer brakes to help reduce trailer sway


Don'ts - NOT Good Towing Practice

Do not slam on the brakes - jackknifing could occur
Do not attempt to steer out of a sway situation
Do not increase speed - trailer sway increases at faster speeds
Do not tow a trailer that continues to sway

Tap the camper brake controller or speed up a bit but only momentarily.

Use brake controller to lightly apply trailer brakes, don't slow the TV until the wagg is gone the slow and determine the cause.

Slight increase and drive out of it...........then when under control SLOWLY decrease speed, pull off roadway and inspect set up.....determine reason.

Then get issue fixed......better set up, improved set up, better tires, better suspension, bigger tow vehicle, less weight, better loading of weight etc

What caused it.......fix it!
