- Jim_ShoeExplorerNo, but thanks for putting that thought in my mind. I'm deathly afraid of snakes. Venomous or not, they're all deadly to me. I've always believed that if I stepped on a lion's paw, I deserve anything I get because I was warned, but I could accidently step on a snake with no malice in my heart and still get bit. Now I'll spend the rest of the day looking up and down every time I take a step. :)
- The_TexanExplorerIn south Texas, we have rattle snakes using the RV for shade all the time, in the summer. I try to discourage them and definitely look at the steps, when we go out at night.
- Stars101ExplorerOK, gotta ask.... was the matter settled in favor of the cat or the snake LOL :)
- BillB800siExplorerSpent one winter in LaBelle Florida once and saw a small rattlesnake under my truck (warming up??). This cat came by and I noticed it kept jumping around under my truck. I investigated and it was trying to catch (play) with this snake. I got my shovel out and settled the matter forth with.....
- TripalotExplorerThis post is giving me nightmares! I don't do well with snakes.
A friend was telling me about sitting watching TV in their M.H. and suddenly a long snake appeared out of a crack near where the TV was mounted over the dash.
Her husband took care of it. This was at Wilderness RV resort near Silver Springs. It is a posh place, with paved roads and interlock driveways - sites
are not woodsy and one of the last places I would expect to find a snake. - travelzooExplorerDuring our winters staying around the Gulf area we have had snakes get up under the motorhome. Some like to curl up on top of the tires. Some just wrap around any thing they can find under there. I pack material around my sewer hose opening and electric cord so they can't get in those openings. Really I have more problems with squirrels and birds building nests on the underside.
- tenbearExplorerNever have had snakes in or on the MH, but we have lots in our woodpile. DW can't stand them so I have to be careful to remove all their discarded skins from the wood I bring in.
In spite of the snakes, we still get mice in the house. - NanciLExplorer IIWe have them in our boat barn, (we have fifteen kayaks and canoes) The large black snakes like to shed their skins up in the rafters.
We like them and they evidently like us.
We have never seen any mice or other small vermin in the barn
I have always liked reptiles ever since I was a kid and used to keep a bunch of different ones in terrariums.
Jack L - stickdogExplorerWe had a red rat snake up in the running gear down in Florida and a black racer hanging around in WV. DW likes them around as long as not venomous she thinks they keep vermin away.
