Many of the snowbirds in this part of the swamp, Stuart, that I know, shoot for being home by tax day. Almost like Mary and Joseph, LOL. Both the US and Canadian snowbirds use the April 15 date, so they start heading north. Now the return south, varies more it seems. But most get back here sometimes in September, some as late as the date for US Thaksgiving.
I realized yesterday, the traffic had thinned out enough, I was able to make a left turn or two. Most of the time of the winter months I plan my trips to make only right hand turns, whenever possible. Our economy takes a big hit when the birds leave for the summer. Many of our snow birds come back every year, many leave cars here stored, so 5th wheels are very popular. They are not used for recreation, just living quarters. Many Florida RV parks have a yearly rate where you can leave your RV on your site and not be, in theory, charged for the summer months.
A number of the Canadians that winter in this area, leave their RVs and cars here, tagged in Florida, and fly home to their primary residence in Canada. They have cars there as well.
