If tourists are truly "vital" is a argument no one can win. Certainly, no one wants to find out. I will yield the point to 2012 Coleman.
My point is the rude and arrogant tourists that sometimes arrive. Thankfully they are a small percentage. I used to tell my employees 2% were impossible to deal with. 98% are great people.
This is for the 2%: If you come to my town, act like a guest and you will receive the best hospitality I can offer.
Don't stand in my town and tell me how much better, bigger, cleaner, and cheaper it is "up north." There is no way to faster to alienate a Florida resident than that.
My response?: I will NOT do business with you and you will receive a personal invitation from me to leave, despite your belief that I HAVE to accept your business. I will wish you a nice trip, however.
Sorry if this sounds too stern, but after 35 years and retiring, I no longer have to "hold my tongue."
