I saw some similarly overloaded buses, scooters, and jeepneys when we were in port in Subic Bay in the Philippines, less so in the 'city' of Olongapo, moreso out in the sticks. This would have been in '68-'71. Usually it was passengers, sometimes farm produce. Same around Kaoshung, Taiwan, tho' no jeepneys.
