Somebody educate me on "Nitrogen" in the tires ?

We just bought a new Travel trailer and I never noticed at the dealers, but saw a sticker on the side today that said there is nitrogen in the tires. Someone please explain what this is for. Jack ...

We put it in all the tires at our shop. its a sales gimmick! unless your racing there is no use for it in everyday cars!
