When I read "black specks" I immediately thought it was carbon coming from the filter. When using one the very first time, you need to flush it first. Lots of black comes out initially. After that, it's possible some more could come out over time, although, not as great as that first blast. Even filters you attach to your faucet in the kitchen all come with instructions to flush them before using. If the black specks are the carbon particles, there's nothing to worry about. In time, (a long time), they will eventually come out with normal usage from the water tank.
