Great stories!
When my aunt and uncle came to visit us after their Alaska trip, everything was fine till they left. We lived in the country (woods) with a 1/4 mile driveway. They weren’t daunted and the visit went quite well (unless you count the thousands of slides they showed us on the wall). On their way out of our driveway turning onto the township road - their 31 foot Airstream slipped into the 3 foot deep ditch on the side of the road. We were embarrassed that it happened, but I did take pictures. A tow truck pulled them out.
One time we were camping up in Canada and DH locked the keys in the truck. My keys and our emergency cell phone were in my purse - in the truck. We walked a mile or so to the ranger station and it was closed. Thank goodness there was a pay phone outside the office and we called AAA, not sure if they could help us as we were not in A. They said CAA would help and it only took a couple of hours till they came and opened our door. Now, whenever I get out of the truck I have my purse in my hands. And we have spare keys for everything hidden on the camper.
These humorous things happened in the 80s and 90s. We’re on top of things now... :W
