spray lube on hitch????

IMO, I'm not sure dry lube would provide enough protection for those parts. They move a lot and take a beating. I always used a white lithium grease in a spray can. Best of both worlds.

IMHO, sure you can. Will it work as well as a grease? Probably not. But when it comes to metal-on-metal contact with the forces involved on a coupler and ball (and the moving bits of a WDH) ANYthing is better than nothing. Heck, in a pinch, smear it with bacon grease and the critters will love you!

Using it will not harm anything but it won't lube much either. Heavy grease is the BEST lube but it does require that it be cleaned often to prevent dust and dirt getting in the grease and acting as abrasive instead of lube. I've always used a "white lithium" grease designed for the purpose but that's not the only solution. ANYTHING is better than using a dry hitch.

Try using Slip Plate. Spray on and dries. I use it on all the metal to metal sliding surfaces on my Pullrite Superglide hitch.

Most any grease that has an EP (extreme pressure) rating will be fine. Just choose the color most like the jeans you wear.:D

Use the wax of a toilet flange wax gasket. Works great and no grease marks on clothing and no creaking.
