Find ST tires that are made outside of China, and you might have something there.
I won't be buying any Chinese tires. So I had to go with Firestone Transforce HT. Works for me. And I can drive faster than 65 MPH.
That's easy, Maxxis ST tires are made in Thailand
Do I need to site the very recent Maxxis failure tire thread? It's less than a week old....
I hate to say this but this is the kind of post that causes the thread to short circuit really fast… not because it controversial but because the post offers no information, no recommendations, and no conclusions… heck it doesn’t even link the thread, and I am not going back to read it, but if it’s the one I remember there were unusual circumstances, no blowouts, and no reporting of the problem anywhere but here, not to Maxxis and not to the NHTSA and no pictures…
But complaints are few from people using the tire… are we to condemn the tires on such slim reporting…
If so do we condemn Michelin because of this post???
Well, I never expected to be writing this but I had a blowout on my second set of Michelin 16” LT load range E tires. They were only a year old.
Or do we even condemn all LT because of the many existing recalls and new ones issued all the time…
No because tires are the most abused part on a vehicle and they do fail all of them…
Let’s not even mention the foolish contributions being made since…
Oh but I think it does offer conclusions. There are at least three threads I know of where Maxxis tires have not held up. So the conclusion I would make is when you look at the very small number of Maxxis users, if you call Chinese made tires suspect, then you would have to draw similar conclusions with Maxxis. Instead, you have the Maxxis supporters saying "hey wise decision" when they are really as suspect as any other ST tire. IMHO.
And no I am not going to look for the three threads. If you spend anytime at all on this board you should have read them.
