I echo what Tucquy says. The Columbia River floats on by just beyond my house, and as long as it doesn't dry up there will be wine to drink.
And Dog Folks: what is it you think should have been done to "mitigate" things? Most of the policies of the do-gooders has made things worse, not better.
Ths interesting things about Washington is that this summer, as often in the past, the Wet-Siders will have dry lawns from water restrictions, while the Desert-Siders continue to have green irrigated lawns. (My place is all on drip irrigation, so I've done what there is to "mitigate" things.)
