They have been announcing it for YEARS !
Many cities have been on water rationing and carried that through to the residents, rationing both watering and even pool construction. Allot of water districts are even subsidizing water saver toilets and faucets! It also has been the SOP for most restaurants to not automatically serve water in restaurants for over 20 years. Golf Courses have been converting to recycled water for at least that long. Shut off water in the Central Valley farmers? That HAS been going on. If you prefer we shut it all off, then be prepared to pay for that out of your own pocket big time. Where do you think a substantial portion of produce comes from in this country? Shutting off the Central Valley is no joke for anyone.
Now they are rationing cities directly, including Beverly Hills where ALL the money is; 31% last I checked... And what about all the pot farms up north ? OMG !,
So I'm missing what exactly we are not doing right? Unless this El Niño seriously kicks in, luscious green California, either the burbs, and/or all open areas will likely die out, ALONG with Oregon and Washington. It's not just our problem.
There's plenty wrong with this state, but when whining about this crazy state, do your homework first and get it right (to nobody in particular).
