The BC gov't. recently brought in new legislation, the Water Sustainability Act, to manage and protect our water resources. Sounds like a great idea at first, but the gov't just made a deal with Nestle (world's largest water bottler) who will be paying a mere $2.25 per million liters. Until now, they have not had to pay anything for it. They have been and will continue to pull water from a well at Hope BC, which has among the purest water in North America (IIRC, it's the purest). They've taken hundreds of millions of liters per year already and with the droughts down south, you have to know that will soar in the near future.
Even China is after our water and is already getting 1.4 million liters a year which is supposed to surge to over 40 million this year.
What we need to know is what is the capacity at Hope BC and is it recharged annually by rainfall.
BTW, everyone concentrates on bottled water but don't sodas also use water? Where does that water come from and why aren't we railing against sodas? Aren't they even worse?
