So as I walked past my 5er I heard static coming through my outside speakers. I went inside and sure enough the power was on in the stereo. Turned off the power button and thought that was it. Next day I come outside and hear static from the speakers again. Go inside and sure enough the stereo is on again, so shut it off again. Now the 3rd day running I go out and sure enough static. Go inside and the stereo is back on. So I figure perhaps the alarm which we never used has been turned on somehow. So I make sure the alarm is off, turned off all my speakers and shut it down again. I figured that would solve the problem. NOT !!!! About an hour later I go back into the 5er and the stereo is back on. For starters we have never used the stereo since buying the 5er new in 2012. I finally had to pull the fuse (which is for the TV as well, which we use) to stop this. Perhaps where we live is on a old Indian burial ground. Any ideas ?

Find and clip the power wire or replace with with a real auto unit.

I installed a switch on the accessory line for mine, I did it to turn off the backlighting as it bothered me when trying to sleep. It may solve your issue as well but you can still use the radio as before by flipping the switch.

Does the stereo have a remote by chance? Occasionally at home, my TV will just "randomly" turn on or off, and we figured out that it was probably a signal coming from a neighbor's remote bouncing through the windows.

Mine was doing the same thing the first summer I owned.

I store my TT at my in-laws. First few times I went over there and would walk out to the trailer, my stereo would be playing. 1St time i thought it just somehow got turned on. Same as you, I shut it off and next time it would be on again.

I found out that somehow the timer/alarm was set to go off at a certain time. I simply shut off that feature and it hasn't come back on since.

if you have the manual for the stereo, it should tell you hoe to disable the timer/alarm.

My issue is slightly different for my outside radio. Every time I plug into power or start the genny, the outside radio turns on. I've gotten used to it to the point that when AC power first starts, I just automatically unlock the compartment and turn off the radio. I keep the volume high enough that I'll hear it if I forget but low enough that, if I'm gone from my site for the day and power to the park is interrupted, the radio won't disturb the neighbors when the power comes back on. Guess I'll have to look into mounting a disconnect switch in the outside cabinet.

So after leaving the fuse out for about 3 weeks we had company so had to put the fuse back in as it ran the furnace. The stereo hasn't come back on by itself since. Go figure.

I had pretty much the same problem for awhile.
Turns out it was a 2 yr old little boy that likes music, or at least pushing buttons.

Ya don't have a little one do ya? Lol

modern electronics...

most NEVER completely turn OFF... memory,

you may have a Fault in the radio.

2 power wires... 1 is Red, other is Yellow (most cases)
yellow is for Memory and remote control power
red is turn On radio .

to stop your issue.. see if radio had a plug-in connector for power.. unplug it.
or cut Red and Yellow wires.

<> my new Kenwood radio for the Truck... HAS NO OFF button... only when the key is turned OFF .. radio turns off.

Direct sunlight can do this. Most remotes are IR (infra-red) based, and the direct sunlight has a high level of IR. I've seen this cause a tv to turn on when the sun hits it.

Could this be caused by a short in the RV somewhere ??? AKA a Hot Skin ?

When I push the power button it does go off (dark). But comes back on after awhile.

X2 on a long hold on the power button and see if the unit goes dark. If not I'd put in the kill switch as well.
