stove top cooking

considering buying an induction burner to use instead of (or in addition to) the gas stove top. I realize there are issues with the type of pan/pot you use (must be aluminum I think) but would like feedback as to type and watchouts.... Thanks in advance.
  • In my last 4 RV's I never used the gas range in the kitchen once. I bought a two burner GE electric hot plate and that did a fine job. We never used the gas oven either, but did use the built in convection micro wave. You do have to be careful how many of these appliances you use at once. I did not have any problem with any kind of pots or pans.

If a magnet sticks to it you're good to go; aluminum won't work.

    :h

Does that also then preclude the use of high quality stainless steel? (Grades with a lot of nickel and/or chromium in them are usually non-magnetic)
