Stovepipe Wells Death Valley camping availability

Was thinking of warming up in Death Valley and found Stovepipe Wells Campground's website reporting sites "unavailable". Called to find that is not accurate. While this is a busy time there, most weekdays do have open spots. If you are planning a trip there, do not trust the automated website CALL!
  • Stovepipe Wells campground (no hookups) has 190 sites and doesn't accept any reservations. $14 (or $7 with the Senior Lifetime Pass)

Now if you mean the spots run by the hotel (one row with hookups) then it's best to call. $37

They are both in the same area - a huge gravel area. All sites basically the same (except for the row with hookups)

We stayed at furnace creek over new years a few years ago and it was maybe half full. No problem getting a site there
