Stuck clear sewer fitting

Try heating the juncture of the two pieces with a hair dryer or heat gun, tap the clear part not too hard near its end while heating the spot where the two pieces join. If you see it move a little bit grab the clear piece with a rag or pair of gloves right away and twist it off.

Why remove it mine has been left on for 16 years and 100,000 miles on all kind of roads in USA, Canada and Alaska. Mine has a back flusher built into it that still works.

After you get it off then before installing it next time try using some Vaseline on it where it goes over the other pipe. Including putting Vaseline on the gasket.

Thanks all. Lots of suggestions. I am trying a few as I type. I definetely do not want to mess up the RV fitting so will go gingerly with the strap wrench if I a try that. And I am more than willing to sacrifice the clear elbow fitting so cutting the elbow off with the dremel tool is clearly an option.

My thought exactly.

first thing i would do is take a long punch (sometimes known as a screw driver) and tap/break the tabs off on the clear fitting and get the WD on it and start wiggling it.

If all the good ideas you already have been given by others fail, you can always use a Dremmel of even a hacksaw and carefully cut the "ears" off of the clear fitting. Then you can just pull it free.

I have had a similar problem before. The elbow has been on so long that the gasket in the end of the elbow has bonded itself to the outlet. Either the oils in the gasket have welded it together or the lack of moister between the two have caused if to stick tight. You will need to use more force to break the bond. However, you risk breaking the tabs on the elbow or outlet.

When I had bayonet fittings stuck like yours I have been able to get them apart but the gasket had been crushed so long it would leak when reconnecting. You used to be able to get the gaskets as replacement parts. However, there are at least 2 different ones used now and are not interchangeable. Another problem is some of the gaskets come glued to the fitting so it can't fall out. The last time I wasn't able to replace the gasket because i couldn't remove it completely and had to replace the fitting.

I would recommend if you can't twist them apart to use a screw driver to break the clear tabs off then you can probably pull the elbow off. Better to ruin the elbow and buy a new one than to break off a round tab from the outlet and having to fix or replace it.

Though a strap wrench is good, and What I use at this time, I used to have a wrench specifically for the job,, Lost it, Want another.
