This is our mode also. We are travelers not campers. The only time we are in one place for more than 2 days is if we are at some kind of event and then we have plenty to do. A few years ago we tried to take a couple of days off to just camp while we were in the middle of a trip, even paid for 2 days of camping, after one day we moved on down the road, boredom got to us.

We just spent 9 nights in one location, piled up the wood day one, took day trips most days, out of the campground 6-8 hours at times, fires at night. Have talked about traveling but but to set up and take down every couple days takes away some from relaxing. If we go to DC or the falls next year we will probably stop at the half way point but will spend 5 or so days at the location.
