- Sounds like you are asking if it is towable behind a motorhome rather than using it as a tow vehicle? You may want to have this moved to the Dinghy Towing section for better results.

You would be very wise to read your owner's manual. Taking someone's word on any internet forum could lead to very costly repairs. A poster maybe trying to be helpful, but give wrong information. Look under recreational towing in your owner's manual and decide for yourself.- Subaru will say "No". In 2016 they changed their recommendations and no longer recommend towing ANY Suby 4-down. We have a 2009 Forester 5-speed - have towed it 4-down for about 12k miles. Not sure if they actually changed something in the drivetrain, or just decided not to support it anymore. NEVER tow a Suby on a dolly - being all wheel drive it's either 4 up or 4 down. ST
