Nope didnt see that valve. I filled my sinks of with water with some flavored dish soap and pulled the plug a few times and I believe the smell is going away. ( or im getting used to it)? After every trip I usually fill my sinks up and then pull the plug so it cleans out anything left in the trap.
It wouldnt hurt to put some black water tank deoderizer in it.
I was told once that never put a large dose of clorox in a plastic tank as it can damage plastic,not sure if thats true.I have done the soap thing like you did several times.
