At the under hood fuse box, there is a stud that feeds the trailer-- right above that stud, you will see a big fuse-- that is a "dummy" fuse -- looks like a fuse. Replace the dummy with a 40 amp fuse
If I remember the dummy that needs replacing is in Stud #1
As Downtheroad said, the dummy fuse is in S1. You need a real 40A fuse in there. It will probably be green.
It would have been in the glovebox of a new truck, but a used one - who knows where it ended up!
Also, the ring terminal to feed the 7-way may not be connected. It may be taped back on the wire right next to the same fuse box. Needs to be placed on the adjacent terminal and the nut tightened down.
Not an issue for more than 95% of owners, just the ones that want to keep a trailer battery charged!
