Thanks for all the advise.
I should have stated in my OP that the suggestions mentioned regarding the wire not being connected and the 40 amp fuse have already been tried.
I took the truck to a repair shop in Tucson when I was there on a trip and they checked everything that was suggested and even crawled all over the truck trying to find the disconnect to the rear plug but couldn't. Even the guys at the 2 RV shops thought the very first thing was the wire wasn't connected at the fuse box as suggested and they tried really hard to find the disconnect as well by crawling all underneath the truck as well.
So my final thought is to take it to a mechanic who actually knows what they are doing. The local shop has done repairs for me on other vehicles before, but when I was talking to the owner this time he told me it would be a "flat rate" and just gave me a puzzled look like it may cost a lot more than what it is worth. I've had electrical repairs like this before that cost $2000 on my Miata and didn't want to get caught like this again. Fortunately, insurance paid for those other electrical repairs.
I did receive the PM and as stated, the recommendations here have already been tried. So now I am trying to figure out which shop would be the best to take it to.
Thanks for all the advice.
