We now winter in Gold Canyon. The roads are packed with fleeing snowbirds the first couple weeks of April. We're in that exodus. I can't imagine what miners went through in the Superstitions back in the day.
One daughter still lives in Phoenix, another gave up on it and moved to Ladera Ranch, Ca. She said it was supposed to go over 90 there today.
The OP mentioned the White Mountains. We attend an ATV event in Eager, at the foothills of them. The Weather Channel showed 93 there today! It even reached 90 today and yesterday here in central Colorado, and we live at 8900'.
But it's already cooled into the 60s at 8:30 this evening, and a fan in the bedroom window is going to feel great.
